POSITION:  Special Education Aide

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The South Shore School District has a need for limited-term special education aide, for the 2020-21 school year.  This position is for 5 hours per day when school provides face-to-face instruction. The successful candidate will work with special education students (emotional/behavioral disability - highly physically and verbally aggressive) under the direction of a teacher. The position also requires playground/outside supervision, lifting of students and/or objects equal to or greater than 50 pounds, and any other duties as assigned. This position will also require that the aide transport a physically/verbally aggressive student in a school vehicle and may also require the aide to work with the student in the student’s home for part of the day.

 QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate Wisconsin DPI certification required as a special education aide (or the ability to get certification, generally possessing an Associate’s degree or greater or equivalent).

REQUIREMENTS: The job requires the candidate to work in a variety of environments and availability during the school day. The candidate must be in good physical condition and able to perform physical restraints in accordance with DPI mandates. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 BENEFITS: Salary/Wages: Range: $17.16-$17.86 per hour, other benefits (insurance, etc.) available on a shared cost basis.

POSITION:  4K/Early Childhood Aide

Part-Time, Limited Term, 4K/Early Childhood Aide

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The South Shore School District has a need for a part-time, limited-term early childhood (4K program) aide for the 2020-21 school year. This position is for 7.5 hours per day, two days per week when school provides face-to-face instruction. (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

 QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate Wisconsin DPI certification as a paraprofessional is required for this position. A candidate with previous experience working with 4K students is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: The job requires the candidate to work with young children, including activities of daily living assistance (clothing, hygiene, etc.).

 BENEFITS: Salary/Wages: $17.16 - $17.86 per hour; no other benefits.

The South Shore School District has an opening for a half time (school year) World Language Teacher (Spanish, French, German, etc.), beginning in the 2020-21 school year.

Description:

Teach a world language to students in junior and senior high school. Other duties will be assigned in relation to such a position. This position will start at the beginning of the 2020-21 school year (students begin September 1, 2020). It is a half-time - school year position. If a candidate possesses elementary certification, it is possible that the FTE of the candidate will be higher than 0.5.

Appropriate Wisconsin DPI certification and skills, etc. required to effectively teach a world language to students. Only those applicants with current Wisconsin DPI certification in teaching a world language will be considered for an interview.

Pay Range: $18,871 - $33,921, Retirement, Health, Dental, Life & Vision Insurance benefits available
